SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ENJOY A SAUNA

The sauna must be preheated to a temperature of your liking by setting the thermostat. Most regular sauna users enjoy the heat around 80 and 90ºC, the humidity level between 10 and 30%. Bathers not accustomed to sauna heat should start at a lower temperature around 70ºC and allow their capacity for enjoying hotter temperatures develop. Take as much heat as you find comfortable.
Wear as little as possible. A loose towel can be used. Remove watches, glasses and jewellery that would become uncomfortably hot in the sauna.
We recommend you wait at least two hours after eating a large meal before using the sauna.
It is advisable to start with a brief warm shower to wash off body oils and dirt before you enter the sauna. (always enter once you are completely dry).
Enter the sauna and relax on the top level for 10 to 15 minutes or the lower level if you prefer moderate heat. Do not stay longer than 30 minutes. Any exposure beyond that time can become hazardous as well uncomfortable.
After each session you may take a warm shower or a cool refreshing swim. Rest for 10 to 15 minutes and allow your body to cool down slowly and then repeat the cycle of heat, shower and rest. Return to the sauna once you are completely dry.
A number of sessions can be spent in the sauna with short, cooling-off and rest periods in between. A longer drying off and rest period is very relaxing once the sauna is finished.
CAUTION - We advise you consult your physician, if the sauna is to be used by infants, elders, pregnant women or people who have any medical condition or disorder such as heart disease.

Ice Fountain

An ice fountain is the ideal accessory for a sauna. The Finnish Sauna tradition tells us, that after a sauna session you must immerse yourself in frozen water or rub your body with snow or ice. The contrast of coming out of a hot sauna and then immersing yourself in frozen water is extremely hard for your body, but, it isn´t so unpleasant to rub your body with ice. The ice in our fountains is soft and it is made up of small flakes that break up easily. The contrast of temperature between the sauna and the ice that we rub on our skin is very beneficial for our body circulation, especially for the more superficial vessels.
